January

Since I have failed to update our blog for months, I will just give you a quick update for January! I swear I am going to keep up with this a lot better from now on. January was actually an exciting month all in all. Chris got voted to the All Star team for Germany so we were preparing for all star weekend which was the 21-22. The team got that week off, so most of the guys went to the US. We decided to take our first trip to Paris as we didn't have as much time as the others. We spent three nights there and had a wonderful time! We bought the Rick Steves Paris guidebook before we left and thought a lot about what we wanted to see before we got there. Of course we saw the typical site like the Arc de Triomph, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and the Sacre Couer, but we also got to see a lot of other parts of the city that our book lead us to explore. We had amazing dinners at cute little bistros we found online and loved the French food. We stayed at Hotel Joyce, a nice little hotel within walking distance to a lot of places as well as the metro. The trip was great - the only thing we could have asked for was a few more days there!

After Paris, we flew into Frankfurt where we met up with one of my good friends, Sarah, from Bucknell. She was in Germany for work and extended her stay to visit with us for a few days! It was actually the first time I had seen her in over a year and a half, so it was great she could come visit! We stayed at Chris' parents for two nights, and then she headed back to the US and I headed down to Ludwigsburg for the All Star game.

The All Star day was actually a lot of fun. Although our team didn't win and Chris didn't have such a great game, it was still fun for him to get to play with the old national team guys and take part in everything. After the game, they organized a big party at a club in Stuttgart so we were all able to spend the evening out there. It was great for us to see old friends and get to know other players and girlfriends that we hadn't known before.
