An Action Packed visit

Chris and I just got home from taking Wendel and Maryjoy to the airport. We had a lot of fun while they were here. We took a trip to a new city every day! We spent the weekend in San Sebastian, went to Salamanca on Monday, Segovia on Tuesday, and Valladolid on Wednesday. We got to see two castles and one royal palace and they got to test lots of different food including Spanish Tapas and Turkish. Although my driving was a bit scary at first, I definitely improved a lot over the week. I did actually hit someone by coasting backwards at a light on Tuesday, but luckily there was no damage and the guy let us go. It was definitely a scary moment for me!

The weather wasn't the greatest for our weekend in San Sebastian, but we still got to see everything. We went to a great bar to try tapas and had a nice dinner at a restaurant Chris's assistant coach recommended. Our hotel was really nice, and we were able to drive anywhere in the city thanks to the GPS. On Sunday afternoon we rode to the top of a mountain where there was a small amusement park overlooking the city and its beaches. We decided one of the little boat rides looked like fun so we tested it out.

In Segovia we got to go in the castle and see the beautiful cathedral and the aquaduct from the 1st century. After we left Segovia, we drove to ' La Granja de San Illdefonso,' a 17th century royal palace ten minutes away to take a tour. This palace was the best because we were able to see a lot of where the king and queen really lived and it had amazing decoration and furniture.

On their last day we took it pretty easy and only drove 45 minutes to Valladolid. We finally found some things to buy in the shops - I got a new dress and Maryjoy got a new purse! On the way home, we drove up to the Jesus statue and took some pictures. It is almost in our backyard, and you can't come to Palencia without a little visit to see it.
We have tons of photos, but I will just put a few here:

Cathedral of Segovia
Plaza Mayor of Salamanca
Our trusty Peugeot that carried us everywhere despite my poor driving skills
The royal palace of San Illdefonso
Mont Igueldo of San Sebastian
