It has been a roller coaster of ups and downs for the team these last few weeks, or I guess really months, but right now we are on the way up! With injuries, new players coming and going, and losing way too many games that should have been won, there has been a lot of negativity in the air. After losing to a closely ranked team by nearly 20 at home last week and being whistled at and booed by our own fans, I would say the season hit its lowest point so far. It wasn't just that they lost, it was that they played unbelievably bad and seemed to lack any kind of motivation or drive in the end. It was also one of many games that could have been won, but just went horribly wrong. I am not a fan of the team getting whistled at or booed at, particularly by their own fans in their own arena. I am sure the team felt bad enough already, but that's all I will say! There are a lot better things to talk about right now, especially the spectacular come back of the team this past week!
After the hideous loss almost two weeks ago, the team stepped it up big time on Saturday and demolished #6 ranked Quackenbrück at home. Then after a little bit of a scare in the middle of the game last night, they came back with another big win against MBC. The arena was full for both games and the fans were super loud! I am sure one major reason for the change is the comeback of John Little. After sitting out for around 2 months with an Appendectomy, he was back in action on Saturday. His energy and drive made a big difference for the team. Aside from that, the guys just played a lot better and didn't let the crazy reffing or bad streaks get them down and ruin their game. We are back in 8th place and in the running for playoffs. Of course we all hope it will continue like this! There are some really tough games coming up. This weekend they play in Munich and next weekend in Oldenburg. I am heading to Munich for the weekend to visit with my friend, Nadin and of course see the game!
Here are some great highlights of two recent wins.
Fast forward to around 3:20 to get to our teams part.
