I forgot to post this after last weekend and it's full of good news! Last Friday night's game against Cornella was very exciting! We won by over 40 points and everyone played well for the first time in a long time. Chris had 13 points After the game, half of the fans stayed in the gym to wait for the club to announce who won Hospitalet's game (the 1st place team). Luckily, Hospitalet lost by 6 so we are now back in 1st place!!! We have three more games, and we have to stay on top!
On Saturday we headed out for our first trip to Portugal. It was the first time we actually had time off to spend two nights away. It was a 4 hour drive, but it wasn't bad. We checked in to our hotel and headed out to see the city. We walked to the cathedral and then down to the river and the famous bridge. On Sunday, we took a bus tour on the open topped buses that had headsets explaining all of the city. We paid ten euros and then could change buses as much as we wanted on any of the three lines that gave tours throughout the different parts of the city. We had a lot of fun and got to see everything! We even played a game of mini golf, actually called Petergolf, by the beach. Saturday evening we had dinner at a restaurant someone at the hotel recommended. It was a nice little portuguese restaurant just one block away from our hotel. The food was great! We really thought this was one of the nicest cities we have visited. The food was great, the hotel was nice, almost everyone spoke English, and the city was really beautiful with so much to see. We couldn't have asked for a better trip! The only bad part is that I took the wrong camera charger and had a dead battery on the first night there. We bought a disposable camera for the rest of the trip and are hoping the pictures still come out okay.
