Every season seems to end in a giant chaotic whirlwind. We pack, we run around like maniacs trying to say bye to everyone and tie up loose ends, we take a trip down to Chris' parents, then we fly back to the US. Same thing every season and it still hasn't gotten any simpler or less stressful! Each year we continue to be amazed at how much stuff we have to pack.
We were hoping the season would be a few weeks longer with playoffs, but unfortunately the team lost their last game in Munich and lost what little chance of playoffs they had. After that, we went back to Bremerhaven and prepared to leave for the summer. The team had a final BBQ at a nice cafe along the water and then there was a fan goodbye party on another evening. We enjoyed our last few days with our friends and his teammates there. We are hoping to meet up with several of them in the US this summer, but it's always a little sad to say bye after a season together.
Our week with Chris' parents was very nice. We got to spend a lot of time with his family and hometown friends. We saw most of them several times during the season but only for short periods. This time we were able to relax and hang out more. We also had a big birthday BBQ for our friend Flo and me. Now that we are back in the US, we probably wont see them again until we are back in Germany for the next season.
