A Quick Update

Well the last two and a half weeks have gone by quickly as always! The Superbowl came and went and the Steelers were a disappointment! We did have a fun night at Rickey and Kara's watching the game with the team though. We had lots of American snacks and enjoyed some of the new commercials. We took Dixon in his Steelers jersey and made Steelers cupcakes, but I guess we couldn't give them any luck.

Basketball-wise things are going okay. The team has won their last three league games in a row, including the big home derby against Artland and the home game against our old team! Unfortunately, they lost the cup play-in game at Braunschweig. A few of us girls, Jelena, her sister Aleks, Angela, and I, decided to take the road trip to Braunschweig for the game. We were pretty disappointed in the game, but we still had a nice time together!


Last weekend, two of my friends from Gottingen came here to go to the game and spend the night with us. We had a lot of fun! It was nice to catch up with them and have company.

This weekend the team travels to the other end of Germany for their game in Tubingen. Hopefully it's a better outcome than our last game against them. Angela and I decided we wanted to take a trip ourselves while the guys are gone, so we booked a mystery flight with a German airline. You can choose the outgoing airport and the dates and after you pay, you are told the destination. We knew what the 5 possible destinations were and decided to go for it. So we are now flying to Milan for the weekend! Neither of us have been there so we are excited to do some tourism and go shopping in the city most known for its fashion and design!
