First Game of the Season

Shooting his only free throw of the night!

Chris and Charles

So our first game was a close one, but they just couldn't pull through in the end. We had a big comeback but in the 4th quarter things just fell apart. They lost 75-73! Hopefully they can work on playing more like a team in these close games. Chris played a lot because JB had foul trouble. He ended up with 11 points with a field goal of 80% . Here are the stats: http://www.beko-bbl.de/verein.php?menuid=2&topmenu=270&keepmenu=inactive&teamid=477 You can check out the above video to see some of the great highlights in English. After the game Chris caught up with his old Bucknell teammate Charles Lee and then we headed home. I drove up with 3 of the other girls, but it took 4 hours to get there. We definitely weren't expecting the drive to be that long, however it was nice to talk and get to know each other better.

On Saturday night, Joslyn and Taylor made everyone a Mexican dinner at their house and we made it a little birthday party for Chris and JB. Almost everyone was there and it was a lot of fun! I made Banana cupcakes with coffee chocolate cream icing for JB for the roadtrip. Then for the party, I made my first Sacher Torte for Chris. It was a two layer choclate cake with cherry jam in between and a chocolate glaze over it. It took me two hours, but was definitely worth the time!

This is another long week of practice for the guys before their first home game on Sunday. We are all excited to be in our gym and see how the atmosphere is. Unfortunately the guys dont get the full benefits of 'home court advantage' becuase they have never practiced or played a game in their gym this preseason! The gym has been booked out for other events, so they have been playing in a smaller high school gym. We are all ready for the first game in Lokhalle with all of the dedicated Gottingen fans! Chris' parents are coming to visit for the weekend, so hopefully they will get to see a good game.

Thank you everyone for Chris' birthday messages and cards this week. It's never the same when you aren't at home, but you always make it much better!
