A crazy road game!

After a 2.5 hour drive to Plasencia, we arrived in time to take a little stroll through the Parador of Plasencia and go to the cafe. The building was a 15th century convent, but is now a public luxury hotel. It is really beautiful inside with a lot of old fashioned furniture and decor. They have Paradors all over Spain that are old castles, monasteries, or convents made in to hotels.

We arrived to the gym which was just a little smaller than ours, but packed with fans from both teams. The guys had a rough start, but eventually got in to it and started to take the lead. Chris had an amazing game. He played really good defense and helped stop their big guys from scoring, a lot of times his man couldn't even get the ball. He also had his first double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds. He took a lot of different shots including some from further away that he hasn't had many chances to do this year. We had the lead most of the game, but they were always very close behind. In the end we held them back and won by 9 points. The atmosphere of this game was the craziest we have seen all year, you couldn't hear anything above the crowd and the game was so close the whole time that it never really calmed down! It was a great game to be at. Thanks to both of the second place teams losing this weekend, we are now ahead of everyone by at least two games.
