We have been in Palencia almost a whole week now, and all is well so far! Chris is very happy with his new team and coach, and our new apartment is very nice. It is a little bare right now because all of our stuff is still in Barcelona, but hopefully we will get it soon. We really don't have anything here yet other than a few outfits and the things they gave us. Still no phones or internet, but it should be set up by this Wednesday. They are really good with getting things done for us.
Chris had most of the weekend off, so we took a little trip to the next city and spent Sunday in Palencia so we could explore it a little. We are in the countryside so there are a lot of farms around the city, a lot of sunflower fields too. The city is pretty and very different than Barcelona, but it is small too. It is definitely a change from last year. We will post some pictures soon!
Chris is very busy with preseason training, and I am just trying to get our apartment to feel more like home. Hopefully I will meet some new people and be able to begin to work soon.
The people are very excited about the new season and there have been lots of articles in the local papers.
